Treatment of a VW Beetle Chassis |
Treatment of a VW Beetle chassis using RX5 and RX10

To show you how to use CaprotechRX we made photos of the different steps of the restoration of a VW Beetle chassis.
We used:
A rusty piece of metal (wishbone)
A wire brush
Paint stripper
Brush
Caprotech RX5
Caprotech RX7

Step 1
After stripping or sandblasting of the under side of a beetle, leave the metal to “rust” for 24 hours. Together with RX5 this little bit of rust is necessary to form a perfect bonding for further treatment with RX5, 7 or 10. The first step of the Caprotech treatment will be to apply the first coat of RX5. RX5 penetrates very well and therefore reaches the most difficult places. RX5 is clear. Apply RX5 with a brush, roller or a spray gun.

| Step 2 |
When the metal is touch dry, apply the second coat of RX5. After the second coat of RX5, leave to dry 24 hours at room temperature.

| Step 3 |
Now we can start to apply RX10. This time we have chosen to use the same colour all over. RX10 is standard available in black, but on special order RX10 is also available in every RAL colour.
For the first coat we used a brush and diluted RX10 with 50% RX5.

| Step 4 |
When the metal is touch dry, we applied the second coat of RX10 using a brush. This time we diluted RX10 with 5% RX5
After drying this is the result!
